Old Song

The sea is glass:
      Under the seals of light
            and the sounding moon
the sea is glass.

The sea is glass — Oh?
Who are the glaziers of the air?
What did the sand drink, when
the sea is glass?

Lovers twine in the sounding moon,
      the sea is glass.
Love is the light of the sealed hour,
the sea is glass.
